Get ready for the new invoicing regulation in Spain with Odoo.

If your company already works with Odoo or is evaluating implementing an ERP to take the leap into digitalization, it is time to pay attention to VeriFactu, the new invoicing regulation in Spain. This regulation, driven by the Tax Agency, requires invoicing systems to guarantee the integrity and traceability of data and, in many cases, to send records automatically in real time.

The official calendar is already underway: companies (legal entities) must comply with VeriFactu from January 1, 2026, while the self-employed and other natural persons will have July 1, 2026 as their deadline. Software providers, for their part, were required to have their solutions adapted before July 29 2025, a deadline that has already passed, so any new development must reach the market fully prepared.

The good news is that Odoo is ready: the official module to comply with VeriFactu is now available in Odoo Enterprise V17 and V18. This means you can prepare your ERP now, avoiding last-minute improvisation and ensuring an orderly transition.

At Birtum, as an official Odoo partner and specialists in localizations for Spain and Latin America, we help make this adaptation simple, secure and aligned with your business processes.

What is VeriFactu and why does it matter?

VeriFactu is the new system required by the Tax Agency to prevent invoice manipulation and improve tax control. Through it, invoicing programs must generate, store and, in some cases, automatically send the information to the AEAT in a standardized format.

The good news: Odoo already has the module ready

The l10n_es_verifactu module in Odoo Enterprise allows:

Meeting the technical and legal requirements of the AEAT.

Sending invoices automatically to the VeriFactu system.

Natively integrating the functionality into your Odoo invoicing flow.

What if you use Odoo Community?

For now, this official module is only available for Odoo Enterprise. However, at Birtum we are closely following developments in the Spanish Odoo Association community and third-party solutions so that companies on Community can also adapt in time.

How we help you at Birtum

Our team can:

Update your system to a version compatible with VeriFactu.
